Erb Foundation Provides $7.5M Challenge to Fund New Detroit PBS Media Campus

The Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation has pledged $7.5 million to support Detroit PBS’s move back to the city. This endowment, designed as a 1:1 challenge match, aims to encourage further donations. The grant honors Fred and Barbara Erb’s lifelong dedication to Detroit PBS and 90.9 WRCJ, reflecting their values of sustainability and community service. Detroit PBS will use this funding to develop a new campus at 234 Piquette Avenue, which will serve as a media and community hub. The Foundation hopes their gift will inspire others to contribute over the next 36 months to fully fund the project.
