As history would have it, I first met Sarah when I had the always difficult, rarely enviable, task of judging the Lizard Lounge Open Mic Challenge a few years back. We have kept in touch off and on since. I keep tabs on her 'name that tune' and she shreds posts and ongoing music endeavors and she interviewed me for her wonderful "A Guitarist Is..." series (P.S. she has curated Savoir Faire Presents A Guitarist Is at the Burren on May 12. You should all go).

She arrived at the ole homestead with bassist Andrew Moreau and we grabbed up some gear and headed out back into the woods, past some evidence that the snow was finally melting and deer were much closer to the house all winter that I anticipated and Sarah being an honest to goodness trooper tramping through the snow in ballet flats before we found a spot nestled between a few trees and settled in.

In a rare occurence, playing electric instruments in the woods for the sessions. They unleashed this jazz noir - meets funk - meets rock - meets folk singer-songwriter story telling tune called "Education" and as she always does, Sarah delivered it with a cool and calm confidence that draws you into her tunes as Andrew laid down the steady groove.
