Florida is a corporal punishment state. That means that parents have the right to use corporal punishment also know as corporal discipline when raising their children.

There are three main concepts you need to remember if you want to understand the law about corporal punishment in Florida.
First - a person must be a the parent or a person who is standing in as a parent (acting in 'loco parentis')
Second - the discipline or force must be related to misbehavior or misconduct
Third - the discipline, force, or punishment must be reasonable under the circumstances.
