Breaking News - Huntington Beach Protest to Open California

Thousands of demonstrators turned out in force in Huntington Beach to protest the ongoing economic shutdown of California. People want to work, socialize, go to church and lay out at the beaches.

The protestors started at Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. There were half a dozen helicopters, over two dozen mounted police and sheriff’s deputies throughout the street. There was an attempt to limit the crowd by closing the streets, but this was soon changed when the crowd grew beyond the police's expectation.

Watch this video as protesters spill into Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway. Some of the motorists honked horns in encouragement.
The crowd appeared to be very civil. The Huntington Beach police officers were stationed in front of staircases leading to the beach that earlier in the day had been blocked off with caution tape. The event continued to grow as we left.
