Track Weathering & A New Class 08 | Modular layout Ep 20

Описание к видео Track Weathering & A New Class 08 | Modular layout Ep 20

Welcome back all, in todays video we start of by going through the changes I have made regarding the track plan. In episode 18 towards the end of the video I discussed that the track plan had taken up to too much room for my liking which only left me a small area to work on for scenery. The new track plan eliminates that issue and now allows me much more room by opening spaces up for the fine detailed scenery.

We then get the airbrush out and using Vallejo Model Air Dirt mixed very thinly and using a low air pressure of around 10-12 PSI we start to weather the track. I do this as a 2 stage process firstly doing the rails then once that has been completed I move onto the sleepers. The colour I chose is quite bright compared to the usual Sleeper Grime that is most commonly seen but this is for a good reason, I feel the bright dirt colour will draw the eye down to the floor and as the layout is a scrapyard the floor is going to have a lot of detail, the same reason is discussed for lighting. The board will be heavily lit with yard lights etc, again drawing the eye down to the fine detail on the floor.

Please don’t forget This is all work from a beginner, I’m learning as I go. I value all comments, tips & tricks not just for me but anyone who is wanting to start the journey on model railways. This is a modular build planning to be at least 5 modules. As each module progresses and we move onto the next module we will see improvements regarding skill level.
