The story depicts the change in heart of a widowed Brahmin lady towards her domestic help whom she instructed to maintain distance as she is from a lower caste. The daughter speaks against this superstitious mal practice of caste system and untouchability but the lady pays no heed to it until one day she meets an accident and is nursed back to health by this maid in her daughter's absence and finally accepts the fact that all are humans and Humanity is the only caste on earth. God resides within everyone and we should not differentiate between humans on the basis of caste, complexion or creed.
