Supreme Court delivers a split verdict in the hijab ban case, on a batch of petitions challenging the Karnataka High Court order refusing to lift the ban on hijab in schools and colleges. Justice Hemant Gupta upheld the state’s ban order whereas justice Sudhanshu Dhulia set aside Karnataka HC judgment. The apex court placed appeals against HC’s verdict before CJI for constituting larger bench.
