Описание к видео NINOY AQUINO - Rare 1978 Interview from Fort Bonifacio | Ninoy discusses hunger strike & US bases

Philippine opposition leader and martyr Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr. is interviewed from his prison cell at the Maximum Security Unit (MSU) at Fort Bonifacio. The interview took place on 11 March 1978, during his sixth year as the Philippines' most prominent political prisoner. Here, he talks about his decision to end his hunger strike, which had been done as a protest against his indictment before a sham military tribunal; the baseless accusation that he was a foreign agent during his early political career; and his views on the issue of U.S. bases then situated in the Philippines.
