The practice contributes to the establishment of an Early Warning System Caazapá, Paraguay. It is a new system to monitor and warn about the threat of agricultural drought completely linked to early actions to mitigate the potential impact of drought on priority crops for food security and for the livelihoods of the rural population. It is part of the Anticipatory Action Plan for Agricultural Drought Threats (PAA-SA) developed to respond to the high vulnerability of the rural population of Caazapá in Paraguay, where there is also an indigenous population.
