A los inicios de los 2000's, Hypocrisy era una de esas bandas que los presionaban mucho para hacer música que ellos no querían, solo para comercializar, entonces, ellos ya muy hartos, grabaron el álbum "Catch 22", un álbum duramente criticado porque la banda usa un estilo musical y letras diferentes; un claro mensaje para las discográficas explotadoras. Hatred es una de esas canciones que ellos dedican a esas industrias.
