In a rapidly urbanizing world, cities are increasingly becoming the epicenter of the climate and health crisis. Urban areas contribute the lion’s share of global emissions and often bear the most severe impacts of climate-related events such as extreme heat, water scarcity and vector-borne disease outbreaks.

This engaging webinar explores the critical intersection of climate change, health, and equity in urban environments. During this discussion, we were joined by Rodrigo Oria, Head of Public Affairs, Science & Sustainability, Bayer Mexico, and Jack Fisher, Market Access, Public Affairs and Sustainability, Bayer Consumer Health, who delved into how cities can leverage innovative solutions and integrative planning to build health resilience.

Dr. Vikas Desai, Technical Director of the Urban Health and Climate Resilience Center of Excellence (UHCRCE) in the City of Surat, and Albert Ferreira, Lead for Strategy Implementation for the City of Cape Town, also joined us to share more about their groundbreaking efforts and discover strategies for creating resilient, healthy and equitable urban spaces.

Jeannette Ickovics, Samuel and Liselotte Herman Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Professor of Psychology at Yale University, and Malcolm Campbell, Urban Pulse Program Manager, Programs & Engagement Manager at the Resilient Cities Network, co-host the session.
