The start of this road trip is Brienz, a wood carving village on the north shore of Lake Brienz (Brienzersee). It is located at the foot of the Brienzer Rothorn mountain and in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Brienz is known for its alleys and chalets that look as if they are straight out of a picture book. The Brunngasse, once voted the most beautiful alley in Europe, is lined by houses from the 18th century.

The tour ends east of Interlaken. Interlaken is an important and well-known tourist destination in the Bernese Oberland region of the Swiss Alps and the main gateway to the Jungfrau Region with ist mountains and lakes.
