Today is the second part of our metering mini-series.

My subject has the main light source, the sun, behind it. Spot metering would be very difficult in this situation but here we see how we can get a good reading with an incident meter.

In this video we move a step up from basic incident metering by taking two incident readings and averaging them. It's called duplex metering and is particularly useful when the sun is behind your subject. When shooting into the light we'll over expose the photograph without duplex metering the scene.
