Zhongshan Fourth Road (Zhongshan Si Lu) is a major east-west thoroughfare located in the Yuexiu District of Guangzhou, China. This road is not only a bustling commercial and cultural hub but also carries over two thousand years of Guangzhou's urban development history, often lauded as a "living epitome of Guangzhou's urban evolution." The core area of Zhongshan Fourth Road is part of the Beijing Road Cultural Tourism Zone and is exceptionally rich in historical and cultural sites both on the street and in its vicinity. The most famous attraction is the Nanyue Kingdom Palace Museum, which showcases the archaeological site of the Nanyue Kingdom's palace from the Qin and Han dynasties through to the administrative offices of various later dynasties, marking it as one of the birthplaces of Guangzhou's history. The street's name originates from its history; according to records, it was the location of official granaries (specifically the "Pingzhun Cang") for storing grain during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Consequently, the name "Cangbian Lu" was adopted, meaning "the road beside the granaries." Cangbian Road plays a significant role in Guangzhou's urban layout, not only by linking two major thoroughfares but also by being an area that blends a modern metropolitan atmosphere with historical imprints.
