One of a number of level crossings close together within the seaside town of Southport, Merseyside, and the last level crossing before the northern end of the Merseyrail Network at Southport. This level crossing is in a quiet, pleasant residential area, and has a rather unusual mounting bracket in one of the corners giving it further charm. However, as of 2024, the loud, recognisable alarms have gone from here for apparently no reason, and have been replaced by these standard, quiet ones. They're quiet to the point where I suspect they're stuck in 'night mode', a volume reduction of alarm sound during night time hours. Quieter alarms feel like they best suit this environment, but these are a little too quiet. Three of Merseyrail's striking and shiny Class 777 trains can be seen in these videos, as well as a broken LED amber light on one of the extra sets of lights, the second I've caught in this area over time!
