One night, outside a nightclub in Brookhaven, a fight erupted between a Pirus member and a rival gang member. Gang leader Maurice “Savage Duze” Kent opened fire into the crowd, wounding two people . Kent fled the scene but was quickly arrested – and as he sat in custody, paranoia set in. He heard that a fellow gang member, this 17-year-old kid, might have talked to police about the shooting . In Kent’s eyes, that was the ultimate betrayal.
