The Britons are able to complete an archer rush sooner than a generic civ due to their sheep gathering bonus, which allows you to have one less villager on food. The Britons are one of the best civs in AOE2 for using an AOE2 archer rush build order as they create archers much more quickly, and can advance sooner which will mean that you are able to mass a bigger army more quickly than your opponent. The drawback of this aoe2 archer rush build order is that your walls will be a little late in being built, but with the bigger archer numbers you will have with Britons, you shouldn't get attacked as you will be in control of the game.

An Aoe2 archer rush build order is great for beginners to master before learning the more micro intensive builds such as a drush or man at arms rush. An AOE2 archer rush is vulnerable to skirmishers, however the fact that you can mass up an army more quickly will certainly help you to gain control of the game, especially if you are able to prevent skirmishers being massed up.
