Nicholas Wallwork is joined by his chief Project Manager, Tom Gillett, who is helping on Nicholas’ mentee client’s site in Fleet, Hampshire. Together, Nicholas and Tom discuss the completion of a build and how to get to practical completion.

If you have installed your contracts correctly throughout your build, you will find that when the work is complete or practical complete, this is referred to as the date of PC. Although this is a moot point, it has recently been improved in case law; the definition is not that an employer can take beneficial occupation a resident can, therefore, move in, but there may be jobs that still need finishing.

When PC is reached, other factors are triggered. Tom goes through in a clear and methodical manner what steps now need to happen and how to go about them.
