A House Homeland Security Committee hearing turned explosive when Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) clashed with Daniel Hodges, a D.C. Metropolitan Police officer who responded on January 6th. The confrontation unfolded during the hearing titled “When Badges Become Targets: How Anti-Law Enforcement Rhetoric Fuels Violence Against Officers.”

During a tense exchange, Crane challenged Hodges over controversial claims involving masked ICE agents and law-enforcement conduct. The Arizona congressman accused the witness of forcefully spreading misleading narratives, pressing him on inconsistencies and demanding accountability. At one point, Crane erupted, telling the witness, “You should be ashamed of yourself,” sending shockwaves through the hearing room.

The witness, Daniel Hodges also made an alarming claim in his testimony that "In U.S. there is a Secret Police Force abducting people based on the color of their skin".
