This math web series for kids is founded on the idea that we learn better when we learn together.

In this week’s episode, “The Popcorn Problem”, Matt and the gang explore multiple visual and contextual representations of the number of the day (24) and discuss estimation through a 3-act math task. Through the lenses of their notice-and-wonder goggles, students are encouraged to come up with their own strategies for estimating how many pieces of popcorn are in Matt’s bowl and together, they explore two different paths towards a solution using addition and multiplication.
