"I have been asked by Datu Dieter to review his newly released online Abaniko Academy. I have spent a couple of hours reviewing many different videos and I can now offer an objective, honest and thorough review at this point. In no particular order, I have four observations:
1) Video quality - excellent. The clarity, lighting, contrast and volume is very good quality. Dieter has been producing videos for decades and it shows.
2) Instruction - excellent. Dieter is not only a very good martial artist, he is also just as good as an Instructor. He's articulate, knowledgeable, he offers attention to detail and he also changes positions so that you can see both views whenever he is demonstrating.
3) Content - Wow, there is A LOT of footage in this library! I was surprised at not only how much material is contained in the library, but also how far back it goes and how diverse it is. I have been training in Modern Arnis since 1981/82 and even I picked up on a few details that filled in a few blanks for me. If, after 40 plus years, I can find a few additional details in this library, imagine what a new student, or a new Black Belt can get out of it. 🙂
4) Value and follow up. Considering the information contained in this library, the cost is well worth it and then some. It is very reasonably priced! Being extremely familiar with just how much training goes into reaching this level of Instructor, there are thousands of hours of training, teaching, recording and editing involved. This library is well worth the cost. I also know Dieter has always been willing to follow up with any questions that people ask pertaining to his video work. I highly recommend this online library!
