Here is my tribute to the great Trombonist Rico Rodriguez MBE and my version of his solo on Ghost town. Thanks to all that sent in photos and to Grippa Laybourne for the recording and Mixing, Jessie fuller for the video.

Emmanuel "Rico" Rodriguez MBE (17 October 1934 – 4 September 2015), also known as Rico, Reco or El Reco, was a Cuban-born Jamaican ska and reggae trombonist. Rodriguez was born in Havana, Cuba, and at an early age moved with his family to Jamaica. He grew up there in Kingston, and was taught to play the trombone by his slightly older schoolmate Don Drummond at the Alpha Boys School. In the 1950s, Rodriguez became a Rastafarian and was closely associated musically to the rasta drummer Count Ossie. He recorded with producers such as Karl Pitterson, Prince Buster, and Lloyd Daley. Rico moved to the Uk and settled in London where he worked with The Members, The Specials, Jools Holland, and Paul Young.

Lucas “Lukeyboy” Petter is a Trombonist from Camberwell South - East London. Specialising in the Reggae and Ska Lucas is a founding member of Chainska Brassika alongside recording gigging with various artists and genres: Chainska, Sasha Keable, Damon Albarn, Tiana Major 9, Congo Natty, Tippa irie, Gentlemans Dub Club, GEKO, Nick Mannaseh, South London all ska’s, Bollywood Brass band, The Hempolics, Kiko Bun, Love Grocer, Nick Mannaseh, Aba Shanti, Soul revivers, Subajah, Ital soup, Dubheart, DreadSquad, The Soothsayer’s,The Ithiopians, HYLu unit 137, Sleepy Ghost, They Say Jump, No.1 Station, Mafioso, Zoey Devlin, They Say Jump, Paul Chan.
