When Marshall first meets Gangadhar, he informs him that the conspiracy was masterminded by Samar Singh and his group. Even though he places the responsibility on Kranti Guru, Gangadhar doesn't think the teacher is at all responsible. Gangadhar orders his minister to locate Samar Singh, whether he is deceased or not. The news that Laxmibai's horse will never be able to run again makes her heartbroken. Laxmibai is asked to stop being the Kranti Guru by Moropant. He advises Manu to make an effort to win Gangadhar over. Samar Singh is tortured by Marshall. Gangadhar is fed by Laxmibai. Gangadhar expresses his pride in Kranti Guru to Laxmibai and showers her with compliments. Gangadhar is informed by a servant that Marshall and Fraser have arrived from Fort William with a crucial message.
