0.06 - It’s a hot summer afternoon in Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary located in central India & it is our day 1 here. Archie Tigress is seen approaching a man-made waterhole to quench her thirst.
0.34 – She is testing the water before entering.
0.58 – The Tigress starts lapping up water with her powerful tongue. A Tiger can drink up to 50-75 litres of water in a day.
1.11 – She is checking out the presence of other animals in the vicinity & at the same time seems comfortable with human presence.
1.29 – In summer season Man-made waterholes are the life saviours for animals & birds as natural water resources go dry at this time.
1.59 – After quenching her thirst she decides to cool off the summer heat by spending time in the water. Tigers submerge themselves, soaking up to the neck during the hottest time of the day. Like most animals, they don’t like to have their head or eyes wet.
3.09 – After spending around 45 minutes in the water she decides to step out.
3.28 – Archie is seen sniffing the tree to determine the presence of another tiger.
3.48 – She decides to take a walk of her territory & goes out of our sight.
3.55 – This is day 2 afternoon & we are again lucky to spot Archie tigress cooling off at the same waterhole.
4.05 – Her constant yawning makes one feel that she has just awakened from a good afternoon nap.
4.13 - This waterhole seems to be her favourite to escape the scorching summer heat.
4.29 – Almost at the same time as on day 1, Archie decides to step out of the water. It is time to go on a patrol of her territory.
