The movie is called “Çanakkale 1915” it came out on 12 October 2012. The movie is based on a novel written in 2008 by Turgut Özakman called “Diriliş: Çanakkale 1915”.
Both the movie and the book is based on real events.

The movie is about the Gallipoli Campaign that took place during WW1 in the Gallipoli Peninsula (= Gelibolu in Turkish) back in the Ottoman Empire (now located in the Republic of Turkey).
The war lasted almost 11 months yet took the lives of ~250.000 Ottoman soldiers and ~300.000 soldiers of the British Empire and the French Third Republic.
The Ottoman Empire won this war.
