Addressing Neurogenic Pain with Microfat and Nanofat Injections in the Knee | Friday's @ RP 023

In this episode, Dr. Drew Timmermans, ND, discusses how regenerative therapies are helpful in treating several patients who have been experiencing PTSD, chronic pain in the low back, and the knee.

A stellate ganglion block was performed for the first patient who developed PTSD from multiple knee surgeries. The patient has reported better outcomes such as increased calmness, reduced anxiety, and more effective cognitive therapy sessions.

The second patient received a caudal epidural to address her low back pain due to sacroiliitis and mild discogenic pain. During the procedure, her pain was recreated at the iliolumbar ligament which is commonly injured and a pain generator in patients with chronic low back pain.

Microfat and Nanofat autologous stem cell injections were provided to a patient who had a crush injury which created lot of pain in his knee. The incident led to compression and inflammation of his saphenous nerve. To improve the patient’s pain, Dr. T also performed fascial plane and nerve hydrodissections to provide more space and decompress the nerve. Lastly, the lymphatic chains in the affected area were likely damaged as well, and so they were also treated them with regenerative injections.
