5 RULES of INVESTING to GET RICH From Share Market | Share Market for Beginners in Tamil
Investing in the stock market is a way to manage your money. There are two main reasons why people invest in stocks. First, it offers the potential to earn higher returns on your investment compared to other savings options like fixed deposits. Over the past decade, stocks have generally provided better returns. Second, investing in stocks can help you develop good financial habits. Regularly investing money encourages you to save and invest wisely.
So, what exactly is the stock market? It's a place where different financial instruments like stocks, bonds, and commodities are bought and sold. In India, the main stock markets are the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), with NSE being the largest.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regulates all activities and participants in the stock market. They oversee the trades, the instruments being traded, and the exchanges where trading takes place.
In addition to listing companies, these stock exchanges also manage indices. An index is a collection of stocks that represent a specific theme, such as industry or size. Common indices in India include NIFTY and SENSEX. NIFTY consists of the top 50 stocks by market capitalization on the NSE, while SENSEX represents 30 companies listed on the BSE.
To start investing, you need to open a trading account with a broker or a stock brokerage platform. This account is where you place buy or sell orders.
Once you have a trading account, you should allocate funds for regular investments. Create a personal budget, track your expenses, and determine how much you can set aside for investing. One popular way to invest in the market is through a Systematic Investment Plan (SIP). With SIP, you invest the same amount of money every month in a mutual fund, for example. This strategy helps you average the market's ups and downs, develop good investing habits, and gradually increase your investments as you gain confidence.
