Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and soon, the Next Generation Car!
Good early morning from a very windy and much colder Giga Texas today!
I uploaded images in two parts today, the first being all the inside and pre-dawn views of Giga Texas, including great looks inside the full length of the west side of General Assembly, Floors 2 and 3 predominately. Part two has most of the post-dawn images from around the rest of the site.
In the video introduction, we first discuss the fact 2024 is a leap year and tomorrow, 29 February is an extra day of the month! I also discuss how factory tours of Giga Texas have resumes and how you can obtain tickets. Recently, SE Robinson, Jr. who is both a follower of mine and also has his own channel with daily deep dive updates on all of Elon Musk companies (posted on "X"), was able to go through the factory on a tour, and he made a great short video of the activities and what he was able to see during his time at Giga Texas.

A few additional highlights from today include:
I was able to get some detailed and clear images and video inside the entire length of the west side of the main factory today due to my early start. We first see into some areas under the temporary loading platforms and through windows on the north end where the 4680 production section of the factory is being expanded, then some of the interior areas of both the 4680 cell production underway on the 3rd floor (NW corner) and new clean rooms under construction.
We also get great views into the battery structural pack assembly area, expansion areas with lots of delivered crated equipment above the west main entrance, the west main lobby and lighted exterior entrance area and sections of the factory (3rd floor) that make the Cybertruck doors, hood, tailgate, and other items.
The south extension is now getting two parallel excavation areas trenched on the ground floor, oriented north to south. Interestingly, these excavations are happening where the perimeter grade bean was made double thick, so this is something worth watching to see what they install here. the second floor is getting another large section poured with concrete today, while more of the steel superstructure, particularly on the southwest corner has been erected.
Cybertruck and Model Y production seems very strong today, with many of both vehicles on the east testing and calibration lot and the west outbound lot. Almost 100 Cybertrucks were on the E lots, about 10 exited the southeast corner of the factory, and another 20 to 30 in the outbound lot. Interestingly, in the outbound lot, some Cybertrucks were grouped with the Model Y's, while another section had about 15 Cybertrucks grouped together in an isolated part of the lot. Transport trucks were busy picking up both vehicle types and moving of site even this early in the morning!
