2020-12-09 Xiao Qi Ji ~ Fierce & Feisty

#PandaStory Day 110: Scenes from the past 12 hours. After Tuesday's adventurous, active morning, Xiao Qi Ji has been sleeping a lot. It seems when he is very tired, and Mei Xiang visits him in the den, he lets out a fierce bark. And he is making some new sleep vocalizations ... at first it sounded like he was trying to clear his throat or choke, but no, he's fine, just vocal! And late this morning, Mei Xiang, who was lying outside the den door, responded to his sleep vocals with a bleat. And it's always fun to see the way Mei Xiang picks up her 10+ pound cub (12.4 pounds one week ago today).

Starting about the 6 minute mark is a play bout from early this afternoon. Normally Mei Xiang doesn't visit the den to rest during the afternoon. Last time she did Qi Ji wanted to play, and today was no different.
