My Story: How RETTI is Promoting Energy Access Through Solar Power | Speech at Columbia University

The Renewable Energy Technology Institute (RETTI www.retti.com.ng) was created in 2019 to promote skills and workforce development for the energy transition by training Nigerians on the design and installation of solar panel for electricity purposes – 3000 trained – clean electricity provided for over 4000+ homes and businesses and 840k tonnes of C02 prevented through the deployment.

RETTI created the RETTI Virtual University (Courses.retti.com.ng/) Africa’s first online learning platform which has trained 1,450 individuals on solar design and installation.

RETTI Created the Africa Fellowship for Young Energy Leaders (AFYEL.org) a 6 months fellowship program to train young Africans on the small and utility scale areas of 4 core renewable energy technologies (Hydropower, Onshore Wind, Solarpower and Bioenergy) in 2 years, we have Invested into 110 young and mid career level professionals, power system engineers, PhD students, lecturers in the energy sector from 35 African countries.

The RETTI Solar Panel Factory was established to manufacture high-quality solar panels tailored to meet the specific temperature and weather conditions in Africa. The primary goals include promoting standardized solar technology, fostering local employment, and contributing to the strengthening of Nigeria's economy.
