What is an Enhanced Data Model in Power Pages?

This video demonstrates the purpose of an Enhanced data model in Power Pages. The enhanced data model in power pages is a new generation cutting edge technology change for the core backend infrastructure for Power Pages. It supersedes the Standard data model which existed from the adx portal days.

The benefits of enhanced data model are as follows:
✔️ faster provisioning of websites
✔️ faster design studio experiences
✔️ allow website configuration to be contained in solutions to provide smoother ALM experiences
✔️ improved updates of Power Pages enhancements and bug fixes

The enhanced data model consists of
✔️ Combination of system tables
✔️ Collection of non-config tables
✔️ Set of Virtual tables

The System Tables are Power Pages specific solution aware tables that can't be modified. Site, Site Component, Site Language are the 3 major tables present in the enhanced data model.

The Non-Config Tables are feature specific tables that contain transactional business data, and they don’t participate in ALM process.
Non Config Table E.g. Poll, Invitation, Setting, Portal Comment etc

The Virtual Tables contain metadata of specific website components.
The Content within Virtual Tables can be updated through Power Pages Management App.
