Video tribute from John Woo to Patrick Lung Kong (2014)

Astoria, NY, August 15, 2014 -- Hong Kong director John Woo sent a heartfelt video message to his mentor Patrick Lung Kong, on the occasion of a nine-film tribute at New York's Museum of the Moving Image, co-presented with the NY Asian Film Festival and sponsored by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office NY. Prior to a screening of Lung Kong's "The Story of a Discharged Prisoner" (1967), another Hong Kong luminary, Tsui Hark, presented him with a Lifetime Achievement Award. This video was shown to a full-house audience just before the presentation of the award. Tsui Hark and John Woo reimagined "Discharged Prisoner" as "A Better Tomorrow" (1986).
