Jan Rath is a professor of urban sociology at the University of Amsterdam, and associated with the Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies (IMES) and the Center for Urban Studies at the same university. He is also the European chair of International Metropolis, and a member of the World economic Forum. An anthropologist and urban studies specialist, he is the author, editor or co-editor of numerous articles, book chapters, reports andmbooks on the sociology, politics and economics of post-migration processes.
