Описание к видео My First Semester Teaching Architecture at an HBCU | From Entrepreneur to Adjunct Professor

In this video, I’m sharing what my first semester teaching architecture at an HBCU really looked like — the lessons, the surprises, and the full-circle moment of returning to my alma mater as a professor.

After years as an entrepreneur, I’m currently pivoting through entrepreneurship and exploring multiple streams of income. One of those streams is becoming an adjunct architecture professor, which allowed me to reconnect with my academic roots while still honoring my creative and entrepreneurial background. I earned my Master’s degree in Architecture, and stepping back into the classroom — this time on the other side — challenged me in ways I didn’t expect.

Teaching architecture pushed me to slow down, explain my thinking, and relearn fundamentals through the eyes of my students. I talk honestly about what I learned as a professor, how teaching at an HBCU reshaped my perspective on education and representation, and why this experience felt bigger than just a job.

If you’re an architect, creative, or entrepreneur considering adjunct teaching, higher education, or a career pivot — especially at an HBCU — this video is for you.
