Top Digital Marketing Trends for Your Small Business in 2019

The Digital Marketing landscape is constantly changing. Things that are working one year, may not be the next. But there are some tried and true techniques that are still working in 2019, as well as some new strategies that are gaining more traction.

For any small business, you need to use your marketing resources wisely. There are still some foundations you need in place to be successful in promoting your business online in 2019.

First, your website should be informative, but it's main purpose is to drive potential customers to take an action (call you, provide their contact information, buy your product, etc.). Make sure that when someone lands on your website, it is clear what action you would like them to take, and that your website leads them to that conclusion.

Second, you need to ensure that your online reputation is solid. Regardless of how someone finds your business, they will Google your business' name to find your reviews. Having an automated process in place to seek reviews from your happy customers is imperative.

The third part of the foundation is to have an automated way to follow up with potential customers. 97% of those who land on your website, Facebook page, Google listing, etc. will not call/buy from you the first time. You need to continue to market to them until they become a client/customer. Else your competition will gain them as customer. So if you are spending money on ads to get traffic to your website, and you are not following up with those who land on your page, you are throwing money down the drain.

Continue to market to those who land on your website with retargeting ads. These are ads that are shown on a variety of sites, including Facebook, to all customers who have landed on your website, or who have opened your emails, etc.

Other methods of follow-up include email marketing and Facebook Messenger Bot Marketing.

These are the foundations that need to be in place in order to be successful in any online marketing campaign in 2019.
