2 months ago I started an Ashtanga yoga practice. Although my practice is primarily an Iyengar-based alignment practice with elements of Hatha and Tantra yoga, I decided to give this physically challenging practice a go. Here's what I learned in 2 months of the practice. There are similarities between Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga since these are sister schools of yoga. Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga both come from the same lineage as both Mr. BKS Iyengar and Mr. Pattabi Jois were both students of Tirumulai Krishnamacharya, who is often referred to as the Father of Yoga in the West.
