Final Fight (Arcade) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

Описание к видео Final Fight (Arcade) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Capcom's 1989 arcade beat 'em up, Final Fight.

Played through on the machine's default settings as Haggar. I also got the bonus credit roll at the end.

Final Fight is one of my all time favorite games, and absolutely my favorite beat 'em up - sorry Streets of Rage 2, but you only manage a firm second place in my book.

What is there to say about a classic like Final Fight that hasn't been said a million times before? It looked and sounded impossibly good for a 1989 release with its massive characters and punchy, rock-driven soundtrack, and its game play was what I tend to think makes it the first truly "modern" game of the genre. The basic moves were nothing new or special, but the animation flowed with the controls and gave reliable feedback as you were attacking - finally! It was a huge step up from older games like Double Dragon where the lack of fluidity (especially in transition animations) made timing often seem a random matter of luck.

And I don't remember another beat 'em up before giving each individual character a name and a life bar. Nice touch!

It might not have gotten quite the treatment it deserved when it was ported to the SNES, but the arcade version of Final Fight is hard to top, and it was one helluva note for Capcom to finish the eighties on.
