Spokane Public Schools 2024 Bond: Option Schools Upgrades

Описание к видео Spokane Public Schools 2024 Bond: Option Schools Upgrades

Spokane Public Schools has a proud history of offering a portfolio of school options, giving families the freedom to choose a school that’s right for their child. As part of the 2024 bond, we’re investing in the future of several successful options programs.

The Libby Center building opened in 1928 as Libby Junior High and currently houses Spokane Public Language Immersion (grades K-6, growing to K-8 by 2025), as well as the highly capable option programs Odyssey (full-time grades 4-8) and Tessera (one day per week, grades 3-6).

A partial remodel of the building was included in the 2018 bond, and the 2024 bond would further these modernizations while planning for future program needs with input from staff, students, families and other community stakeholders.

Spokane Public Montessori is located in the former Havermale Junior High School building, constructed in 1928. In recent years, SPM has grown to include a middle school program, which is currently housed in portables. The 2024 bond plan would enhance the building to include a dedicated science lab, safety updates, and other improvements.

The Community School is located in the former Bancroft building, which was constructed in the late 1950s. The 2024 Bond plan includes phase 1 planning to accommodate future needs for this successful high school program. Design options may include renovating or replacing the existing building or designing a new building at a different site.
