'With Nicky'- Back to More basics - Right Hand Bow Distribution

After a little break, ‘With Nicky’ is back and on a Friday 😱!

This week, Nicky goes back to more basics for the right hand focusing on the topic of bow distribution. She takes us through three different exercises taught to her by Natasha Boyarsky, Maciej Rakowski and Julian Rachlin.

Words of wisdom, however, try not to obsess over any of these exercises! They are really good for you to understand and gain familiarity with your bowing and your sound, but in the end you approach a piece and want it to sound a certain way...you don’t want to be obsessing over bowing techniques. So if these exercises work for you, great, but if not, don’t worry. It’s up to you to follow your ears and your desires as to where you want your sound to end up.
