“..and Bleakness Comes Through the Trees Without Sound” is the last track from Nascent's 2013 release. “Methods for Detection, Analysis, and Isolation.” Named after a quote from the abstract expressionist painter Joan Mitchell, ...and Bleakness.. features Chris Poland (Ohm, Megadeth) and Tom Hanslowe (Ashes).

The video was created by filmmakers Paul Villanova, Padrick Ritch and Ian Sexton, is a mix of live action narrative and experimental film. Inspired by anesthesia-driven hallucinations that Paul experienced while having brain surgery in early 2014, the video takes a surreal trip through the darker reaches of the mind. To create a psychedelic visual experience, the filmmakers utilized a number of avant-garde techniques, such as "paint & scratch," which involved hand painting and scratching 400 ft of 35MM film - 1 frame at a time.

NASCENT was formed in Boston in 2005 by Jeff Briggs (guitar, keyboards, bass) and Libor Hadrava (drums), the (mostly) instrumental duo are augmented with contributions from friends/session musicians. A self-titled debut was released in 2007 to positive critical response. Followed by the 2013 release of Methods for Detection, Analysis, and Isolation, the band has solidified their their unique brand of Progressive Metal. The band is currently looking to release an EP in 2015.
