Therefore, excessive use of air conditioners and automobiles, as well as deforestation, lead to ecological imbalances thereby causing depletion in the Ozone layer. World Ozone Day, which is observed on September 16, commemorates the importance of Ozone which is getting weaker with every passing year. We must promote measures to protect the environment.

The theme for the celebration of this year's World Ozone Day to be marked on 16th Spetmeber 2021 is "Montreal Protocol - Keeping us, our food and vaccines cool".
