Advent International Chairman David Mussafer and Advent Global Opportunities Managing Director Mohammed Anjarwala sit down with Yahoo Finance Live to discuss the slowdown in private equity deals seen in 2023, while also commenting on the state of IPO deals this year.
"If you look at the valuations and what's happened to, particularly in the public markets, valuations have reset over the last 18 months," Anjarwala says, adding: "There are some pockets of value that are forming in certain sectors in the US but also outside the US."
"Today, the IPO market is incredibly thin as we saw from some of the high-profile names that came to the market in October that didn't get quite as warm a reception as they had hoped," Mussafer states. "At the same time, the private markets are thin and there's just a much lower level of liquidity across many parts of the financial markets today."
