Sergeant Sweeting-Mashkow devoted 25 years to protecting her Florida community with courage, compassion, and grace. Known for her kindness, mentorship, and steady presence, she began her career as a dispatcher before achieving her dream of becoming a deputy.

On that fateful morning, while serving an eviction notice near Vero Beach, a suspect opened fire without warning. Terri was fatally struck while protecting others. Her bravery, leadership, and legacy continue to shine through those she trained and served beside.

She is survived by her husband, daughter, stepson, and mother — and remembered by an entire community who loved her.
