Roman Numbers Rules.

RULE 1: If a smaller numeral is written on the right of a greater numeral then we will add both of them.
Eg: VI = 5+1 =6

RULE 2: If a smaller numeral is written on the left of the greater numeral then we subtract the smaller numeral from the greater numeral.
Eg: IV=5-1=4
_________________________________________________________________________
RULE 3: A Roman Numeral of Smaller value can be placed before another of greater value but only once.
Eg: We can write IV but we cannot write IIV

RULE 4: V, L and D are never repeated.
_________________________________________________________________________
RULE 5: I and X can be repeated a maximum of three times.
Eg: We can write XIII but we cannot write XIIII

RULE 6: X can be subtracted from L and C but only once.

RULE 7: C can be subtracted from D and M but only once.
