Lie groups: Introduction

Описание к видео Lie groups: Introduction

This lecture is part of an online graduate course on Lie groups.

We give an introductory survey of Lie groups theory by describing some examples of Lie groups in low dimensions.

Some recommended books:
Lie algebras and Lie groups by Serre (anything by Serre is well worth reading)
Representation theory by Fulton and Harris (Many examples)
Lie groups and Lie algebras by Bourbaki (great as a reference, and contains several of the proofs omitted from the lectures, but is rather dry to learn from).
You may be able to get free pdf files of these from https://link.springer.com/ if you have an account with a university that subscribes.

For the other lectures in the course see    • Lie groups
