कहानी आप शम्भू मंदिर के स्वयंभू शिवलिंग की, जो है रूप नगर, जम्मू में। The STORY of the SELF-MANIFESTED SHIVLING at AAP SHAMBHU MANDIR, SATHRIAN, ROOP NAGAR, JAMMU.

I’ve been to this famous temple of Jammu few times before but long ago. Many things have changed since I visited last. It must’ve been 10 or 12 years ago. I had taken few photographs of the place then & have included them too in this video to show N explain the changes.

I’ve narrated the legends associated with this place in my video. Hope you will like my narration. Let me narrate a little over here too. It is said that the Shivling (शिवलिंग) is SELF-MANIFESTED (स्वयंभू शिवलिंग) & laid there undetected till in the reign of Maharaja Pratap Singh a shepherd found its miraculous powers. He thought that it had some evil spirit in it so he hit it with an axe. Blood started oozing out of the rock (Ling, लिंग). He got scared and ran away to his home. It’s said that he was befallen with grave calamity. Thus people around him got to know about this Shivling & latter the new about this happening spread all around. Maharaja Pratap Singh also got the news & the fame spread all around. Thus it got known to everyone.
