Jeep Cherokee: 2wd to 4x4 Swap: Everything You Need to Know to Install Factory 4wd [‘87-’01 XJ]

A full explanation and demonstration of the 4x4 swap in the 1987 to 2001 Jeep Cherokee. Using factory parts, we can equip a 2wd Jeep with real 4wd. This costed me a very odd and not necessarily calculable amount of money, because on one hand, I already had all the parts, but on the other hand, I also rebuilt my transmission and transfer case. So I couldn't tell you a real cost or time estimate.

-A 4wd Transmission
-A Transfer Case (NP231 or NP242)
-Driveshafts front & rear
-Dana 30 Front Axle (of matching gear ratio!)
