🇬🇧 NEW TO SKITTLES? READ THIS: You are watching Wallingford Live Skittles, the premier (only?) live broadcaster of traditional 9-Pin Pub Skittles in the UK.

It's not Ten-Pin: We play on a wooden alley with 9 skittles or pins (not 10) in a diamond formation. Every gap is begin enough to let a ball clear through.

The Ball: We throw a wooden ball turned from Lignum Vitae weight about 2lb 3oz or 1kg. Other leagues might use composite or rubber balls to knock the skittles down. Our skittles are solid beech, turned in the "gloucester" style.

The Rules: You get 3 throws to score (called a leg, or hand). If you clear all 9 skittles before you've had all 3, the skittles are reset and you keep going. Maximum theoretical score per leg - 27.

The Vibe: This is "Slow TV" at its finest. Real people, real ale, and the satisfying sound of wood-on-wood.
