Shortly after starting a new job at Starbucks on ASU’s Tempe campus, Kyle Nowell heard about the new college achievement plan offered to students in need of support.

After Kyle’s mom was diagnosed with cancer, he began looking into the Starbucks college program for himself. After deciding the program was right for him, Kyle transferred 100% online and moved home to take care of his mother.

The ASU SCAP program allowed Kyle to move home and care for his family while still continuing his college education. He thanks Starbucks for the opportunities they provided him and the support he received when he needed it most. Kyle eventually graduated with his Bachelor of Science in biological sciences and continues to work at Starbucks as a store manager.
