Tamluk Bargabhima Mandir: Tamluk Bargabhima Mandir is one of the "Sati Pith” (out of 51) of Ma Kali.Tamluk is known as a historical place. It is situated at Purba Medinipur, West Bengal. It is not far from Kolkata (almost 90 km.). Lots of devotees gather here every day as it is believed to be one of the most live deity. It is an old Hindu Kali temple, 1150 years old and built by Maharaja of Mayor Dynasty. This place has been mentioned in Mahabharata as a place which Bhima acquired. This temple is considered as 51 shakti pith of mother Durga where left ankle of sati fell. The temple has been declared by Heritage Site by West Bengal Govt. The current temple is not very old as it was rebuilt after the Islamic occupation of Bengal in the Middle Ages. In old Bengali literature the temple was mentioned several times. The temple is the mixture of three cultural combinations Hindu, Buddhist and Bengali. The local people makes huge festival on Durga Puja and Bengali new year in this temple.

The opening time of the Temple is 7.30 a.m. and remains open until 1.30 p.m. It again opens at 3.30 p.m. and closes at 8.30. p.m.
The place can be visited as a great weekend destination within 100 km from kolkata.

Kolkata to Bargobhima Temple Road…
Kolkata------Kolaghat----then take Haldia Tamluk Mecheda Road and then Tamluk Paskura Road.
Or,
Reach Tamluk bus stand and then take a toto from there and reach the temple .
Or,
By train, get down at Tamluk station and take a toto to reach the temple in 10/15 minutes.
From Bargabhima temple go to Tamluk Rajbari just 1.5 km away. Stay there 30 – 45 minutes.
